The Art of Contemporary Shibari Exhibit is the largest display of shibari art in a gallery setting in the world. This exhibit is hosted by Mother Dog Studios and is part of the Fotofest 2012 Biennial activities.
Some people have a preconceived opinion and think shibari is degrading and abusive to women. Because they say — it involves tying up women with rope. Really? Appropriately, this lovely model is wearing a cherry red kimono with excellent ropework during a nice partial suspension. This is a wonderful example of people enjoying their shibari in a clean, clear, fresh air outdoor environment. I’m sure it brings back not only old, but also very good memories for them.
