The Art of Contemporary Shibari Exhibit installation at Mother Dog Studios

The Art of Contemporary Shibari Exhibit is the largest display of shibari art in a gallery setting in the world.  This exhibit is hosted by Mother Dog Studios and is part of the Fotofest 2012 Biennial activities.

Here are some pictures of its installation.

The Loading Bay –

This area contains some of the art of Captured Erotica.  It was also a center of activity for live art performances and photoshoots during the Opening Reception weekend.

 

The Entrance Hall –

This area contains some of the art of DoctorZ, Jim Duvall, and Hikari Kesho.

 

 

The Main Hall –

This area contains some of the art of CapturedErotica, MaillerPhong, Hikari Kesho, Zee Maitri, Clover and WykD_Dave, Alexander Neptune, and Lew Rubens.

 

This is another view of the Main Hall from the opposite end.  This Hall is 12 feet wide by 100 feet long.

Live performance art suspensions were displayed in this Hall during the Opening Reception weekend activities.

The Side Studio –

This is the entrance to the Side Studio, accessed from the Main Hall.

 

 

 

In this Side Studio, there is a continuous presentation of Behind The Scenes shibari photoshoots, and slideshow videos with images from shibari photoshoots.

There were also live art performances of shibari floor work during the Opening Reception weekend activities.

This Side Studio contains some of the art of Riccardo Sergnese, Cannon, Chi Lum, Noble Manque, and Lee David.

 

 

 


The Side Hall

This Side Hall is accessed from the Entrance Hall.

 

 

 


The Side Hall contains some of the art of DallasKink, Noble Manque, CharlyB, Jim Duvall, CapturedErotica, and Stefano Laforgia.
